Some Information about Rockhound Rambling, this Listing of Them and Future Plans for This Section of the Web Site.

We invite you to browse our file of past and current club bulletins. This list includes all bulletins that have been published on this web site. We add each bulletin to the site as soon as possible after it's been published in print/email.

Something to keep in mind - The older each of these bulletins gets, the better the chance that some of the links to other sites and some of the e-mail addresses may not work. A few days, even minutes, might be too old sometimes. Some of them may have changed and others may have simply gone bye-bye (that's one of those technical terms).
Knowing that (and knowing that broken links on a web site are not particularly desirable), I remove the "click-on" links to other sites and e-mail addresses in the older bulletins. See below for a change in marking the ones where the links have been removed. Incidentally, for the best chance of having any address work, make sure you get it right (dot the I's and cross the T's, make sure you know if it's a zero or an Oh, capitalize when it's capitalized, etc., etc.).

I have changed the order of the Bulletin listing by placing the latest ones at the top. Also, all of the Bulletins that were ever on this web site have returned in their original form except for web site links and e-mail addresses. (There are only a few of these in the older ones - times have changed! I also noticed there are few, if any, pictures in them.)
Anyway, then I reversed the use of the
*'s in the list. Since returning the older bulletins we had even more *'s than non-*'s and it seemed to make them more meaningful by reversing them. The *'s now indicate the clicky things are still there. Broken links are really no-no's on a web site. You can type or copy and paste if you wish to try them.
I want to see if I can come up with a better search routine but, until I do, I'll use the old one. One of the problems with the old one is finding your word within a larger word (for instance sam finds samples). With more advanced search programs you can restrict it to exactly what you are looking for. The search is located near the bottom of this page but you can go there quicky by using the link just before the next heading. As I mentioned earlier this search covers all of the bulletins. At some time in the future there may also be searches for words in particular sets of bulletins (such as by year) but that will wait until we decide if we are actually going to split the list.
When "whatever-we-decide-to-do" is complete I will remove the Archive section of the web site. This will leave you with all the information in each Bulletin (and the ability to search for it) and not just what I think you might want to know.
One final thing I want to say is that I will not discard the Archive section of the web site JUST IN CASE!! An example of just in case is that I didn't discard the older bulletins which had been archived and now they're back.

Search All Bulletins.

Please be aware that, in a normal year, the club publishes 11 issues per year. This due to the meeting schedule in November and December.

  1. Click on the box labeled 'Text to Search For:', delete what is already there and type the text you wish to find.
  2. Select your 'Boolean:' choice. 'AND' means all the words which you type have to be in the document. 'OR' means at least one of the words is in the document. Click on the down arrow to change your selection.
  3. Select your 'Case:' choice. Insensitive means it makes no difference whether or not letters are capitalized. Sensitive means the words in the document have to match your capitalization exactly. Click on the down arrow to change your selection.
  4. Click on the 'Start The Search' button to - you guessed it - start the search.
  5. Wait for the results. These will be presented in the form of links which you can click on to see the document(s) which the search found. If there are no links presented your text was not found. In this case you may wish to select different words or different logic (Boolean and/or Case) and try again. If you wish to clear and reset the form before starting over click on the - all together now - 'Clear The Form' button.
  6. To to leave the results page you have from the previous search use the links at the bottom of that page.
